- Across the Waves Football Club | History
Our History The History of ATWFC Established in 1958, Across the Waves Football Club has a long and proud tradition of football excellence in Bundaberg. The original club was solely utilised for social gatherings around bocce and soccer by early immigrant Italian farmers of Bundaberg and was so named 'Across The Waves', for that was how they travelled to Australia aboard the Angelina Lauro - across the waves of the Indian Ocean. As one of the foundation sub clubs of The Waves Sports Club, our football club has long been an icon and leader of football in Bundaberg. From strength to strength the club has gone - from the summit of the state league to the first ever regional finalists of the FQPL Champions League. Today, ATWFC is the largest and most successful football club in our region and perhaps regional Queensland. 1/2
