Welcome to Across the Waves Football Club. Based in Bundaberg, Qld, ATWFC is one of the largest and most successful clubs in Bundaberg and the greater Wide Bay region. We have a strong focus on developing junior footballers, both male and female, so that they can progress to our senior teams. This in turn creates a friendly, family culture where we not only enjoy our football but have great success on the field as well.
FAQ's - Junior Football
Q - When do registrations open for 2020 season?
A - Registrations open on January 3, 2020
Q - How do i register my child?
A - Registrations can only be done through Play Football website.
Q - What are the fees?
A - Fees are different for all age groups that play football in Bundaberg. 2020 season fees are found here.
Q - When will my child train?
A - Coaches of all teams are volunteers. Therefore coaches schedule training days that suit around their work, life and family commitments and can be any day Monday to Thursday usually after 4pm. ATWFC do not schedule days where all age groups train at the same time.
Q- Where do i get playing equipment and uniform?
A - Shorts and socks can be purchased from Sports Power, located in Bourbong Street, Bundaberg. A playing shirt is provided (and given back each week) on game day. Shin pads and boots can be purchased from a retailer of your choice but we do recommend seeing the team at Sports Power who offer great service and value for money.
Q - Is there a sign on day?
A - No sign on day is held. Because registrations are done on the Play Football website there is no longer a need for a sign on day.
Q - Is my child guaranteed to get in a team?
A - ATWFC attempt to ensure that every junior player who registers is allocated to a team. Unfortunately however, due to maximum numbers that can be placed in a team, this is not always possible. Where this occurs we will attempt to advise as soon as possible so that you may attempt to get a game with another club. Preference to allocation in a team is always given to returning ATWFC players before new players are allocated.
Q - What is the process once i have registered my child?
A - Registrations are received throughout January and February and our Junior Registrar allocates players to teams. Our committee then attempts to ensure that we have a coach for each team. Once teams and coaches are sorted, our gear steward will allocate playing equipment to the coach. The coach will then contact all players in the team to organise training days and times.
Q - When does training start?
A - For u6 - u10 roughly start training in early March. U11 - 12 roughly start training in late February and u13 up roughly start training in late January to early February.
Q - When does the season run?
A - The season times are provided by Football Bundaberg. Season is usually late March until September.
